Wireless communication media
Wireless communication is the process of transferring data between two or more devices without any physical connection or cable connection. The benefits are given below-

  • Any device can be easily moved within the network.
  • No problem with cabling.
  • The cost is low.
  • More devices can be added to the network.
  • Network speed is high.

What is Wi-Fi? Advantages and disadvantages of Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi or Wireless Fidelity (Wifi) is a popular wireless technology. Which can transmit data to any electronic device using a high-speed internet connection using a radio wave. This technology is relatively faster and less expensive than standard Ethernet and other general based LAN technologies. Wi-Fi Wireless LAN connects to laptop PCs, smartphones, and other devices with Wi-Fi modems to quickly connect the Internet to fast-growing businesses, the public, and homes.

Advantages of Wi-Fi

  • Wi-Fi is much cheaper than local area networks. Wireless local area network i.e. Wi-Fi can be easily accessed in all areas where there is no access to wires or cables.
  • Manufacturers have now designed almost all laptops to adapt to wireless networks. As a result, it is becoming more and more acceptable to many.
  • Wi-Fi products are certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
  • Any quality Wi-Fi will work anywhere in the world.
  • The current version of Wi-Fi is widely considered secure.
  • The new protocol for standardized services has made Wi-Fi more appropriate for voice and video applications.
  • The power-saving system has improved the operation of the battery.

Disadvantages of Wi-Fi:

  • Its data transfer is quite slow.
  • It is difficult to get coverage in places other than certain areas. For example, it is impossible to work with the help of Wi-Fi while moving from one place to another by car.
  • Data security remains a risk.
  • There are network security risks.

What is Wi-Max? The advantages and disadvantages of Wi-Max

WiMAX is a communications technology that can provide high-speed wireless internet services in a wide geographical area. The full form of Wi-Max is Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax). It is also called 4G, a part of fourth-generation mobile technology or wireless communication technology. The WiMAX offers data transfer rates of up to 65 MB / sec, which is relatively fast compared to ordinary cable modems.

Advantages of Wi-Max:
Provides portable mobile broadband connectivity in rural and urban areas through a variety of devices.
Wi-Max is a wireless alternative to cable and digital subscriber lines to ensure end-to-end broadband access in any geographic region. As a result, the Internet can be easily accessed.
Provides extensive support in various activities like data exchange, telecommunication, TV service, etc.
Provides support for Internet connection in the business as part of a continuous plan.
The cost is relatively low compared to other networks.
Spectral efficiency is good enough.
The Wi-Max replaces the cellular phone, which has a relatively large overall capacity.

Disadvantages of Y Max:
Wi-Max cannot deliver speeds of more than 60 megabits / second over a distance of more than 50 kilometers.
As the cunning increases, additional base stations are needed. As a result the cost goes up.
Performance is poor when there are multiple active users in a single sector.
Signal problems occur in sunny weather.
